ABOUT GATWICK BELMONT HOTEL
The Gatwick Belmont hotel, in Horley, West Sussex, was originally built
in 1901 by a local doctor for his family home, it was named Mena House
and then many years later it was changed to a Guest House by Mr Gucci.
Being in such close proximity to Gatwick Airport it soon turned in to
a thriving business, in 1996 Kevin & Kathleen Hagerty purchased Belmont
House with 7 letting bedrooms. Due to the increasing demand, they soon
asked their son, Gary, to help run the hotel. The guest house became
increasingly popular and was extended 4 times expanding the hotel to
18 bedrooms and a bar restaurant.
The name of the hotel was changed from Belmont House to Gatwick Belmont
and is a registered company in the UK under Gatwick Belmont Ltd.
The hotel employs a team of 20 staff to cover the various shifts that

FAMILY HISTORY
The Hagerty family became interested in buying a bed and breakfast close
to Gatwick Airport due to their friendship with Graham and Rosie Everett
who owned Gainsborough Lodge Guest House which is located just across
the road.
They had run Gainsborough Lodge for a number of years and when another
Gatwick B & B came up for sale The Castle Lodge Gatwick Graham put
the owner in touch with the Hagerty family, the whole purchase process
began and things were moving forward. But as is often the case with the
UK property system the owners of the Castle Lodge Gazumped or pulled
out on the final day and final hour which left the Hagerty family after
selling there own family home no where to live and forced to rent a flat.
As is the case with many things in life luck was on there side, within
weeks another property went up for sale – this time, The Gatwick
Belmont Hotel – and everything went to plan. Soon after the purchase
completed the expansion started to turn a small guest house in to a hotel
and 20 years later this is what we have.

WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMERS STAY AT GATWICK BELMONT
There are numerous reasons why customers stay in the Gatwick Airport
(LGW) vacnity – of course most of it is related to flying, many people
book worldwide flights that only fly from Gatwick and not their local
airports, so people have to drive from Cornwall, Devon, South Wales,
Midlands or even from the North of England. Many customers even a lot
closer will drive up the night before to avoid the risk of getting stuck
in traffic and missing there flight also people from the Channel Islands
who cant risk a connecting flight will stay the night in Gatwick.
We offer Gatwick Parking for all our customers while on holiday which
they find a very convenient service especially with airport transfers
which is actually closer than many of the off site Gatwick parking facilities.
American and Canadian customers have favoured the Gatwick Belmont Hotel
there place to stay for many years, weather in-between flights, seeing
family or visiting London and the South Coast. Many European customers
use the Gatwick hotel due to LGW being a major hub for flights to the
rest of the world.
Business travellers, people working or training in the area also find
our Gatwick bed and breakfast accommodation rates very competitive while
having to stay away from home and the cozy atmosphere creates a home
from home feeling.
